Activities

As a childminder I follow the EYFS. The seven areas of learning are;


  • Communication and language
  • Physical development
  • Personal, social and emotional development
  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the world
  • Expressive arts and design

We offer a wide range of activities and experiences to effectively deliver the above areas of learning with the main focus being on having fun.

The playroom and garden have zoned areas of learning with specific toys and equipment to encourage and enhance each area.
When the children display a particular interest in a topic or style of learning we will try our best to incorporate this into our planning

Working so closely with the children allows us to understand the way in which they play, whether it be through ;


  • Playing and learning
  • active learning
  • creating and thinking critically


 This is referred to as Characteristics of effective learning.

Places we like to visit

We are regulars at Daisy Nook Country Park and love the pirate ship and the river.

We love to be outdoors and visit lots of parks and places of natural beauty.

We enjoy walks down the canal to feed the ducks, walks to the reservoir , down the old canal path.

We get out and about in the local community to learn about the world around us, visiting shops and having lunch in the local café.
